AMHERST, Mass. -- No. 2 seed Tufts knocked off No. 7 Bates Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 NESCAC Women's Squash Championships as the Jumbos advance with a 6-3 defeat of the Bobcats.
It marks the second consecutive 6-3 triumph in as many weeks for the victors vs. Bates as both squads faced off against each other exactly one week ago.

Andy Martagon collected a win in her final NESCAC tournament contest, defeating Tufts' Maria Arseniev by scores of 11-7, 12-10, and 11-3 in the No. 1 slot. First-year
Navya Gupta coasted to her own 3-0 win, sending off Riddhi Joshi (11-7, 11-4, 11-3) .
Sumairaa Suleman, also making her postseason debut for the Bobcats, made the most of the opportunity as the rookie outlasted Aleezah Burhan (17-15, 11-9, 7-11, 5-11, 11-9) in a five-game match at No. 4.
The Jumbos (11-5) now take on No. 3 Middlebury in Sunday's semifinals (9 am), which defeated No. 6 seed Bowdoin, 8-1. No. 1 seed Trinity takes on No. 5 Williams in the other semifinal match (12 pm).
Bates, at 6-10 on the year, now looks ahead to the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships, Feb. 15-18, in Philadelphia (Arlen Specter Center).
