Patel caps off Bates career with second team All-NESCAC honors in women's squash

The senior captain bookends her time as a Bobcat with All-NESCAC recognition

HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates women's squash senior captain Aasya Patel is a second team All-NESCAC selection, as announced Tuesday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

It's a great bookend to Patel's (Indore, India) career at Bates. She was also named second team All-NESCAC as a rookie in 2023. Patel spent her junior year studying abroad and came back strong this season to lead Bates. Playing at the No. 1 position in the lineup, Patel posted a record of 7-9 while competing against the best-of-the-best in women's college squash.

The captain helped lead Bates to the Walker Cup (C Flight) semifinal this year at the College Squash Association Divisional Championships and to a No. 23 national ranking.

Overall, Patel posted a career record of 28-24 while playing at the top three spots in the lineup during her time as a Bobcat.
