PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- No. 24 Bates College faced off against No. 5 seed and No. 25 ranked Connecticut College on day one of the 2026 Divisional Collegiate Women's Team Squash Championships as the Bobcats collected a 5-4 edging of the Camels.
Friday's victory snaps a season-long eight-match losing streak for the garnet-and-white.
The Bobcats clinched a triumph in each of the lineup's top-5 positions, beginning with
Aasya Patel's 3-0 send-off of Conn. College's Kendry Sol Navas Perez (11-8, 13-11, 11-5).
Tia Billimoria (11-7, 11-8, 11-6) and
Scarlett Hine (11-9, 11-2, 11-9) followed at positions No. 2 and No .3, respectively, with their own 3-0 performances.
Sav Thomson, playing in the No. 4 slot, needed four games to move past Ariana Michaca (11-8, 7-11, 11-8, 13-11).
Angelina Amastal blanked Miranda Medina (11-3, 11-7, 11-7) at No. 5.
Bates (5-9), serving as the No. 4 seed in the Walker Cup division of the event, will now take on No. 1 seed and No. 21 ranked St. Lawrence University in Saturday's semifinals at 9:00 a.m. as the Saints defeated No. 9 seed and No. 29 ranked Chatham University, 7-2.
