BACC MISSION STATEMENT
The Bates Athletes of Color Coalition (BACC), founded in 2020, aims to be an affinity group that fosters a community for all athletes of color at Bates through communication between Bates Athletics and our NESCAC peers, as well as through dialogue within the greater Bates community. It is a space where people from all different backgrounds can come and share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas. We connect with teams across campus, and have representation from all 31 varsity sports.
As a group, we are committed to fostering community engagement, raising awareness for racial injustices, and bringing light to issues at Bates and in the broader cultural context. As members of BACC, students become part of an ever growing, ever changing expanding group at Bates.
