MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- No. 19 Bates College, playing on the second of three consecutive days of competition, visited Middlebury College Saturday where the Bobcats dropped an 8-1 decision to the No. 16 Panthers.
Middlebury, winners of five-straight, improves to 7-1 on the year with the triumph. After winning its first outing of the season, the garnet and white has now dropped five-in-a-row (1-5).
The Bobcats' lone victory came in the No. 1 position as
Andy Martagon authored a solid 3-0 triumph (11-5, 11-7, 11-8) over the Panthers' top player, Sabrina Schwarz.
Bates closes out its road trip Sunday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) at No. 26 Hamilton.
