Grace Flaherty earned individual victories Friday as Bates College visited #14 Williams in women's squash competition.
The Bobcats, ranked No. 19 in the College Squash Association (CSA) team rankings, ultimately suffered a 7-2 defeat vs. the 5-5 Ephs, which have now won four-straight matches.
Gupta, playing at the No. 2 position, outlasted Williams' Sophia Koehler in a five-game thriller (11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 8-11, 12-10) to earn the rookie her second win of the season. Flaherty, at No. 6., outlasted Anika Kakarla, 3-1 (11-5, 11-9, 10-12, 16-14), to personally move to 1-1 overall.
Bates drops to 1-4 with the setback. The Bobcats get right back at it Saturday afternoon as they visit #16 Middlebury at 3:00 p.m.
