LEWISTON, Maine -- Two Bobcats set pool records and the Bates men's swimming and diving team captured the CBB title on Senior Day with a win over rival Bowdoin Saturday at Tarbell Pool. The Bates women came up just short as Bates split the dual meet with the Polar Bears.
The men out-scored Bowdoin 173-114 on the afternoon while the women lost a tight contest by a count of 147-141.
"I'm really proud of the team today," Bates head coach
Peter Casares said. "The men were on fire and the women worked hard to overcome Bowdoin's stars, as the meet came down to the final relay for them. Our depth will help at NESCACs for both teams and we have plenty of reasons to keep 'sharpening the blade' as we tackle these final weeks!"
