Upon graduation, Young ranked in the top 10 all-time at Bates in these events:


800-yard freestyle relay, 1st (7:28.39) and 8th (7:33.71). Top split of 1:52.09, 4th.

400-yard medley relay, 2nd (3:47.06) and 4th (3:47.61). Top split of 56.95 (Butterfly, 6th).

100-yard IM, 3rd (59.81).

200-yard IM, 3rd (2:04.79).

400-yard IM, 3rd (4:25.39).

200-yard butterfly, 4th (2:06.56).

100-yard butterfly, 8th (57.58).

200-yard backstroke, 8th (2:05.50).

Career: Three-time All-American.... One of 92 Senior Scholar Award-winners, who have participated in varsity sports for four years and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better. 

2023-24: CSC Second Team Academic All-America®.... Named to the College Sports Communicators Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-District® Team.... CSC Scholar All-American.... NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... Earned two All-America honors at the NCAA Championships.... Earned the second All-America honor of her career, taking 16th in the 200-yard IM at the NCAA Championships, swimming a morning prelims time of 2:04.79 and racing to the finish in 2:05.97 in the consolation final..... Helped Bates place 10th in the country in the 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:30.39 (March 20-23)....Helped the 800-yard freestyle relay team set a school record (7:28.39) as the Bobcats finished runner-up in the event at the NESCAC Championships (Feb. 15).

2022-23: CSCAA Scholar All-American.... NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... Contributed to an All-America performance at the NCAA Championships in the 400-yard medley relay, where the Bobcats placed 11th.... The Bobcats aced to the finish in the prelims in 3:47.10.... Then they finished third in the consolation final at night in 3:47.06 (March 16).

2021-22: Second team CSCAA Scholar All-American.... NESCAC Winter All-Academic selection.... Placed fifth in the 400-yard IM with an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:28.70 at the NESCAC Championships.... Helped the 400 yard medley relay team finish fourth at the NESCAC Championships.

Best sports memory: Making my first NCAA "B"-cut in the 400IM at NESCAC's (2022), and looking up into the stands to see my teammates jumping out of their seats!
Goals for upcoming year: To get back to my roots in the backstroke, expand the "Long-IM" squad, make NCAAs with a group of Bates women, get an NCAA B-cut, complete an Honors neuroscience thesis, and get accepted and enroll in a veterinary school for this fall!
