LEWISTON, Maine -- Eight Bobcats have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday.
Robert Amundson,
Liam Friedlander,
Marrich Somridhivej, and
Benjamin Wolking of the men's squad, and
McKayla Kendall,
Sarah Palmer,
Elena Trundy, and
Cora Zuwallack from the women's roster, have each earned recognition on this elite list.
Amundson an economics major, currently owns a GPA of 3.94. Hailing from Dublin, N.H., the senior lands on the All-District® Team for the second time in his collegiate career after also doing so in 2023-24. The three-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree appeared in seven meets this season, establishing a new personal- best in the 50-yard free (22.57) at he NESCAC Men's Championships in February.
Friedlander, majoring in environmental studies, lands on this elite list after authoring a 3.96 GPA. From Pittsburgh, Pa., the two-time NESCAC All-Academic selection established a Bates-record time of 1:48.05 in the 200-yard butterfly, which was good for second place at the NESCAC Championships. The junior placed 24th nationally in the event (1:48.67) at last month's NCAA Division III Championship in Indianapolis.
Kendall, the owner of a 3.94 grade-point average, is also a NESCAC All-Academic recipient as a biochemistry and French & Francophone Studies double major. The senior represented the Bobcats at eight meets in 2025-26, including the NESCAC Championships.
Palmer, a mathematics major, returns to the All-District® squad for the second-straight year with a 3.97 GPA. The two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American and NESCAC All-Academic selection captured her first NESCAC championship with a school-record time of 2:15.96 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Now a six-time All-American, the junior placed sixth in the event at the NCAA DIII Championship, the best-ever by a Bobcat.
Somridhivej, a resident of South Windsor, Conn., maintains a 3.93 grade-point average as a biology major. Now a two-time member of this elite team, Marrich is also a three-time CSCAA Scholar All-American and two-time NESCAC All-Academic pick. The senior dazzled at the NCAA DII Championship, collecting championships in both 100-yard breaststroke and the national record-breaking 400-yard medley. Somridhivej finishes his Bates career as a two-time national champion and a 10-time All-American.
Trundy, a sophomore from Bath, Maine, possesses an impressive 3.87 grade-point average as an environmental studies major. Also a NESCAC All-Academic selection, Trundy appeared in eight meets for the Bobcats this season.
Wolking, from Micanopy, Fla., possesses a perfect 4.00 GPA as a biomedical engineering major. The junior, along with
Max Cory,
John Weigel, and Somridhivej, won the NESCAC title in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a new school, conference, meet, and pool record time of 1:19.47. The quartet took fifth-place nationally in the event, the best 200-yard freestyle relay finish for Bates at the NCAA Championships in program history.
Zuwallack, a neuroscience and Chinese double major, recorded an outstanding 3.92 GPA to earn a second-career All-District® spot. A resident of East Falmouth, Mass., the junior competed in eight meets for the garnet and white in 2025-26.
Palmer, Somridhivej, and Wolking have been selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 28 (women) and 29 (men).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
