SOMERVILLE, Mass. -- The Bates women's outdoor track and field team tuned up for this weekend's Pine Tree Classic by competing at the Tufts Spring Invite, held Friday and Saturday at Dussault Track. 

Meet Highlights

• First-year Hannah Pawlowski (Bow, N.H.) took second in the 400 meters in 57.48 seconds, good for third on the Bates all-time performance list. Sophomore Dara Salka (Somers, Conn.) was seventh in the race with a time of 1:02.52.
• Senior Kylie Musante (Brentwood, Tenn.) finished third in the 800 meters in 2:18.42 and senior captain Lucy Paynter (Hillsborough, Calif.) won her section and was seventh overall in 2:22.30.
• Senior captain Moriah Scharn (Dunstable, Mass.) was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.94 seconds.
• Sophomore Graca Bila (Westbrook, Maine) finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.30.
• Sophomore Kyra Buckley (Peabody, Mass.) took eighth in the 10,000 meters in 40:10.79.
• Junior Emily Cain (Burien, Wash.) placed 10th in the 100-meter dash in a personal-record time of 12.68 seconds, good for eighth on the Bates all-time performance list. 
• Cain, Bila, sophomore Madison Alves (Stoneham, Mass.), and junior Anushka Chavda (Nottingham, N.H.) finished fourth in the 4x100 relay in 48.82 seconds, good for seventh on the Bates all-time performance list.
• Junior Lia Traficonte (Cumberland, Maine), first-year Charlotte Everhart (Vienna, Va.), sophomore Alexia Zamora (North Salem, N.Y.), and Pawlowski teamed up to place second in the 4x400 relay in 3:58.03.
• Sophomore Campbell Johnson (Naples, Maine) was sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.25 (1.58m).
• Junior Alannah Ardrey (New York City) took second in the triple jump with a personal-record mark of 38-5.5 (11.72m), good for third on the Bates all-time performance list. Johnson placed third in the event at 37-11.5 (11.57m). Bila matched her outdoor career-best in the event, placing eighth with a leap of 36-4.75 (11.09m).
• First-year Temperance England (Havertown, Pa.) was second in the shot put with a top throw of 38-8.25 (11.79m), good for seventh on the Bates all-time performance list. Sophomore Marie-Ève Maillet (Saint-Antoine, New Brunswick) was fourth in the field with a throw of 37-3 (11.35m).
• Sophomore Darby Nicholson (Franklin, Mass.) placed seventh in the discus with a top effort of 118-1 (35.99m).
• Senior captain Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) placed third in the hammer throw with a top effort of 159-6 (48.61m).
• Maillet was seventh in the javelin with a toss of 118-2 (36.03m).
• Sophomore Juno Rogers (Decatur, Ga.) took sixth in the heptathlon with a personal-record point total of 3,880, good for sixth on the Bates all-time performance list, setting personal records in the 800 meters (2:39.40) and the javelin (68-3) while placing third in the long jump at 16-9.75 (5.12m).

The Bobcats host the Pine Tree Classic this Friday and Saturday at Russell Street Track & Field.
