CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Bates women's track and field team sent a handful of athletes to the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday, turning in some strong performances to wrap up the regular season.
Meet Highlights
- Senior captain Moriah Scharn (Dunstable, Mass.) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles in a personal-record time of 14.44 seconds. Scharn ranks 34th in NCAA Division IIIÂ this year in the event and is second all-time at Bates.Â
- First-year Hannah Pawlowski (Bow, N.H.) took second in the 800 meters in 2:11.70. She currently ranks 27th in the country in the event, based off her personal-record time of 2:10.73 which she achieved at this year's NESCAC Championships. That mark is the third-fastest outdoor 800 meters in Bates history. Â
- First-year Alisandra Lindos (Westbrook, Maine) placed third in the triple jump with a top effort of 36-11 (11.25m). The rookie ranks 20th in the country this season and second in Bates history in the event based on her personal-record jump of 38-11.5 (11.87m) at the NESCAC Championships.
- Senior captain Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) took fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 158-1 (48.18m). She ranks 32nd in the country this season and third in Bates history in the event based off her personal-record heave of 169-4Â (51.62m) at the NESCACÂ Championships.
- Sophomore Madison Alves (Stoneham, Mass.) placed seventh in the 200-meter dash in a personal-record time of 25.92 seconds and ninth in the 100-meter dash in 12.59 seconds.
- Sophomore Graca Bila (Westbrook, Maine) placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.14.Â
- Sophomore Mikayla Ferguson (Winchester, Mass.) finished sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:24.07.
- Sophomore Campbell Johnson (Naples, Maine) placed seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 36-0.25 (10.98) and ninth in the high jump at 5-1.25 (1.56m). Johnson ranks 28th in the country this season and third in Bates history in the outdoor triple jump based on her personal-record leap of 38-7.75 (11.78m) at the NESCAC Championships.
- Junior Alannah Ardrey (New York City) finished ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 35-1.25 (10.70m). She ranks 32nd in the country this season and fourth in Bates history in the event based on her personal-record leap of 38-5.5 (11.72m) at the Tufts Spring Stampede.Â
