HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates men's lacrosse junior
Riley McClure is the NESCAC Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
McClure (Georgetown, Mass.) was productive in all three games in a 3-0 week for the Bobcats. He recorded two goals and an assist in the snow Tuesday against Emerson without turning the ball over.
Then he recorded a career-high seven points, scoring five goals and dishing out two assists Saturday against Trinity in a 14-8 win for Bates.
McClure followed that up Sunday with two goals and an assist in a 17-6 win over Wheaton College. He also tallied 10 ground balls on the week as Bates is 6-0 and off to their best start to a season since 2017.
It's the second straight week to begin the season the Bobcats have had a player earn NESCAC Player of the Week honors. Junior goalie
Andrew Toland (Hingham, Mass.) picked up the honor last week.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday at noon when they visit Amherst.
