Hartman named first team All-Region as three Bobcats recognized by IMLCA

Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association releases All-Region awards

DURHAM, N.C. -- Bates senior captain Connor Hartman is a first team All-Region selection, headlining three Bobcats recognized Monday for their outstanding seasons by the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Hartman (Hingham, Mass.) was one of three midfielders in region one to earn first team All-Region honors. Meanwhile, junior defender Teddy Rosen (New Canaan, Conn.) is a second team All-Region selection on defense and junior Riley McClure (Georgetown, Mass.) picks up an honorable mention from the IMLCA for his work on the attack this year for Bates.

Hartman adds to his post-season accolades, having already been named a third team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine, an honorable mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, and first team All-NESCAC by the New England Small College Athletic Conference. He tallied 50 points on the season (44 goals, six assists) while often being the focus of the opposing team's defensive game plan. Hartman finished the year strong, scoring four goals against Colby in the regular-season finale and following that up with four goals against Amherst in the NESCAC quarterfinal, four goals against Tufts in the NESCAC semifinal, and four goals against Cortland in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Earlier in the season, Hartman scored four goals and dished out an assist in a huge road win at Wesleyan and followed that up with a career-high five goals and one assist in a win over Trinity.

Rosen, a USILA honorable mention All-American and second team All-NESCAC defender, receives another well-deserved honor after a season that saw him record 45 ground balls and cause a team-high 32 turnovers. One of his most impressive performances came in the NESCAC semifinal when he caused a career-high eight turnovers against eventual NCAA Division III champion Tufts.

McClure's honorable mention All-Region selection from the IMLCA comes on the heels of his honorable mention All-America recognition from the USILA and second team All-NESCAC honors earlier this year. He led the Bobcats with 63 points (team-high 48 goals, career-high 13 assists) this season while also recording a career-high 45 ground balls. He matched his career-high with five goals against Trinity, Hamilton, and Colby, all wins for the Bobcats. McClure also tallied a hat trick in the NESCAC quarterfinal win over Amherst, and three more goals in both the conference semifinal against Tufts and in the team's win over Cortland in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Bobcats finished the 2026 season with a record of 12-6, the second-most wins in one season in program history. They advanced to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA tournament for the third time in program history and for the first time since the 2017 season.

Founded in 2004, the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association's mission is to lead the charge in growing the game, honoring the history, and providing a forum for matters necessary for discussion within the sport.
