DURHAM, N.C. -- Bates senior captain midfielder
Connor Hartman capped off his remarkable Bates career by being named a second team All-American on Thursday by the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Hartman (Hingham, Mass.) is one of just six midfielders to earn All-America honors from the IMLCA. He was already named a third team All-American by USA Lacrosse and an All-America honorable mention this year by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Combined with his honorable mention from USA Lacrosse last year, Hartman graduates from Bates as a four-time All-American.
A two-time All-NESCAC selection, Hartman scored 108 goals in his Bates career, playing in 58 games and increasing his scoring output every season. He tallied a career-high 44 goals this year despite often being the focus of the other team's defensive efforts. Toss in 25 career assists and Hartman finishes his time at Bates with 133 points. He recorded a career-high 34 ground balls this year and chipped in three caused turnovers.
An economics major and a three-time NESCAC Spring All-Academic selection, Hartman exploded for a career-high five goals early this season in a win over Trinity and became even more of a force down the stretch, netting four goals in four straight games against Colby, Amherst, Tufts, and Cortland State, respectively.
Bates finished the 2026 season with an overall record of 12-6, the second-most wins in one season in program history. They made the semifinals of the NESCAC tournament and the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA tournament, both for the first time since 2017.
