BOSTON -- Bates women's track and field first-year
Hannah Pawlowski broke her own school record and
captured the New England Division III indoor championship in the 600 meters, highlighting a long day of competition Sunday at the TRACK at new balance for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats finished with 20 points as a team, good for a tie for 12th place out of 34 schools.
Meet Highlights
- Pawlowski (Bow, N.H.) raced to the finish of the 600 meters in 1:33.73, good for first place out of 24 runners and 10 points for the Bobcats. She finished more than a second ahead of the runner-up in the event and broke her own Bates record in the process.
- The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Alexia Zamora (North Salem, N.Y.), sophomore Graca Bila (Westbrook, Maine), first-year Charlotte Everhart (Vienna, Va.), and Pawlowski crossed the finish line in 3:57.10, good for sixth place out of 24 teams at the meet and fourth on the Bates top 10 all-time performance list.
- Junior Alannah Ardrey (New York, N.Y.) and sophomore Campbell Johnson (Naples, Maine) both scored points in the triple jump, with Ardrey taking fourth with a top leap of 36-11.75 (11.27m) and Johnson placing seventh thanks to her jump of 36-5.5 (11.11m).
- Senior Kylie Musante (Brentwood, Tenn.) took ninth place in a field of 23 runners in the 1,000 meters in 2:59.38, good for sixth on the Bates all-time performance list.
- Everhart recorded a personal-record time of 58.53 seconds in the 400 meters, good for second in her section and 14th place overall in a field of 24 runners.
Bates women's indoor track and field will send select athletes to the Tufts Last Chance Meet this Saturday.
