Bobcats Celebrate Senior Aasya Patel Prior to Women's Squash Home Finale vs. No. 18 Bowdoin

LEWISTON, Maine -- No. 25 Bates College, playing its final home match of the 2025-26 campaign, suffered a 7-2 loss to No. 17 Bowdoin Friday evening in women's squash action. Prior to the contest, the Bobcats honored senior Aasya Patel during a pregame Senior Night celebration. 

Patel, taking center stage in the Bates Squash Center for the last time, made the most of the occasion as the captain collected a 3-1 victory at the #1 position, defeating Bowdoin's Darcy Weber by scores of 11-7, 7-11, 11-7, and 13-11. Fellow captain, sophomore Scarlett Hine, secured the Bobcats' second triumph with an 11-7, 8-11, 12-10, 11-5 send-off of Kira Gwadry at #3.

Bates drops to 4-6 with the setback while the Polar Bears even their ledger at 7-7 on the season. The Bobcats now head to Colby College to take on the No. 18 Mules Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
