BRUNSWICK, Maine, MEDFORD, Mass., and BOSTON -- The Bates women's indoor track and field team split up over the weekend, sending athletes to three different meets and turning in impressive results in each of them. The Bobcats competed in Bowdoin's Lynn Ruddy Invite & Multi, Tufts University's Cupid Challenge, and Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

Lynn Ruddy Invite & Multi Highlights

• The action started on Friday, with junior Carly Buck (Arlington, Mass.) competing in the pentathlon at Bowdoin's Lynn Ruddy Invite & Multi. Buck took sixth place, with a personal-record score of 2,390 points. She set new personal records in both the long jump at 14-3 (4.34m) and the 60-meter hurdles in 11.09 seconds.
• First-year Gabriella Giancaspro (Hoboken, N.J.) won the 400 meters in 1:06.02.
• Junior Alannah Ardrey (New York, N.Y.) led a 1-2 Bates finish in the high jump, winning with a leap of 5-2.25 (1.58m). Sophomore Juno Rogers (Decatur, Ga.) took second with a personal-record jump of 5-0.25 (1.53m).
• Rogers placed third in the long jump at 16-2.25 (4.93m).
• First-year Alisandra Lindos (Westbrook, Maine) tied Ardrey for third all-time at Bates in the indoor triple jump, winning the event on Saturday with a leap of 37-0.25 (11.28m).
• First-year Temperance England (Havertown, Pa.) won the shot put with a top heave of 39-3 (11.96m) and took home first place in the 20-pound weight throw with a mark of 47-10 (14.58m).
• First-year Kourtnee Smith (New York, N.Y.) impressed in her collegiate debut, provisionally qualifying for the New England Division III Championships in the shot put with a throw of 35-7.75 (10.86m) and taking sixth place in the field of 20 athletes.

Tufts Cupid Challenge Highlights

• Senior captain Moriah Scharn (Dunstable, Mass.) won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.96 seconds.
• Senior captain Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) placed second in the 20-pound weight throw with a heave of 52-4.75 (15.97m).

Valentine Invitational Highlights

• Sophomore Graca Bila (Westbrook, Maine) recorded a personal-record time of 26.21 seconds in the 200-meter dash, good for 10th on the Bates all-time performance list.
• First-year Charlotte Everhart (Vienna, Va.) recorded a personal-record time of 58.76 seconds in the 400 meters, good for fifth on the Bates all-time performance list.
• Sophomore Alexia Zamora (North Salem, N.Y.), Bila, first-year Hannah Pawlowski (Bow, N.H.), and Everhart won their section of the 4x400 relay in 3:59.96, good for eighth on the Bates all-time performance list.

All three meets were non-scoring meets. The Bobcats are back in action this Saturday when they head to Colby for the Mules Tune-up.
