LEWISTON, Maine -- No. 24 Bates made its 2026 debut Friday at the Bates Squash Center, downing No. 25 Connecticut College 6–3 in women's squash play.
Aasya Patel enjoyed a clean sweep in the No. 1 position for Bates, defeating the Camel's Kendry Sol Navas Perez by scores of 13-11, 11-4, 11-8.
Scarlett Hine did the same at the No. 3 spot with a 3-0 blanking of Gwyneth Perez-Perez (11-3, 11-6, 11-4).
Sav Thomson followed in the No. 4 slot, winning her match vs. Miranda Medina in shutout fashion (11-8, 11-3, 11-2).
After losing her first game of the night,
Tia Billimoria stormed back to defeat Aarushi Reddy at No. 4 (7-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-7).
Angelina Amastal battled back from a 2-0 deficit to stun Ainsley Ellison at No. 5 in a 3-2 comeback win (9-11, 9-11, 11-2, 11-4, 11-0).
Neha Taneja held on for her own five-game win, defeating Ariana Michaca at No. 6 (11-4, 11-8, 5-11, 8-11, 11-8).
Bates moves to 3-1 overall with the win while Conn. College falls to 1-5 on the season.
The Bobcats get right back at it Saturday morning with an 11:00 a.m. home contest vs. No. 26 William Smith (0-5).
