CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Bates women's indoor track and field team competed at the Gordon Kelly Invitational on Saturday, a non-scoring meet hosted by MIT at Johnson Athletic Center Track.
Meet Highlights
- First-year Clare Pritchard (Montpelier, Vt.) cleared the bar at 9-8 (2.95m) in the pole vault, good for a tie for 10th on the Bates alll-time performance list.
- First-year Kaitlyn Quealy (Holliston, Mass.) placed eighth out of 81 competitors in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 27.16 seconds.
- Sophomore Alexia Zamora (North Salem, N.Y.) recorded personal records in both the 200 meters (27.83 seconds) and the 60 meters (8.50 seconds).
- Senior captain Moriah Scharn (Dunstable, Mass.) took second in the 60-meter hurdles, recording a time of 9.04 seconds in the prelims and 9.11 seconds in the finals.
- Sophomore Marie-Ève Maillet (Saint-Antoine, New Brunswick) placed fifth in the shot put with a top effort of 37-8.75 (11.50m).
- Senior captain Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) took third in the 20-pound weight throw with a top mark of 49-5.75 (15.08m).
The Bobcats are back in action this Friday when they compete at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
