MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Bates men's squash visited No. 16 Middlebury Saturday afternoon as the No. 22 Bobcats dropped an 8-1 decision to the Panthers.
Bates' lone triumph came courtesy of sophomore captain
Dennis Welte, who secured a 3-0 victory (11-2, 11-8, 13-11) over David Zhao at the No. 1 position.
Middlebury, winners of four straight, improves to 6-3 overall with the triumph. The garnet and white goes to 3-5 on the year.
The garnet and white moves on to play No. 25 Hamilton Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in Clinton, N.Y.
