Posted an impressive record of 12-5 while playing the entire season at the No. 1 position in the lineup for the Bobcats.... Picked up a 3-0 (11-8, 11-9, 11-4) win as the Bobcats defeated Brown 7-2 (Dec. 6).... Notched a 3-0 (12-10, 11-1, 11-9) victory as the Bobcats defeated Connecticut College 8-1 (Jan. 9).... Rolled to a 3-0 (11-3, 11-6, 11-5) win as the Bobcats defeated Hobart 7-2 (Jan. 10).... Swept his opponent from Middlebury by a count of 3-0 (11-2, 11-8, 13-11) (Jan. 17).... Earned a 3-0 (11-9, 11-6, 11-5) win over his opponent from Hamilton (Jan. 18).... Ended the season on a seven-match winning streak.... Won 3-0 (11-5, 11-5, 11-8) as Bates won a 5-4 thriller over Wesleyan (Feb. 1).... Swept his opponent from Bowdoin 3-0 (11-9, 11-8, 12-10) (Feb. 6).... Rallied to prevail 3-2 (6-11, 11-3, 9-11, 11-4, 11-6) over his opponent from Colby (Feb. 7).... Once again rallied for a dramatic 3-2 (11-6, 9-11, 3-11, 11-6, 11-1) victory over his opponent from Williams (Feb. 21).... Pulled off another comeback to win 3-2 (11-9, 11-13, 9-11, 11-7, 11-2) over his opponent from St. Lawrence (Feb. 22).... Won 3-1 (11-8, 5-11, 11-8, 11-8) over his opponent from Dickinson in the Summers Cup Quarterfinal (Feb. 27).... Swept his opponent from Denison 3-0 (11-8, 11-7, 11-9) in the Summers Cup Consolation Semifinal (Feb. 28).

2024-25: NESCAC Men's Squash Rookie of the Year.... CATSBYs Men's Rookie of the Year .... Second team All-NESCAC.... Welte is the first Bates men's squash player to earn NESCAC Rookie of the Year since four-time All-American Ahmed Hatata '17 in 2014.... Posted a record of 7-9 while playing the vast majority of the season at the No. 2 position in the lineup.... Won six of his final 11 matches -- including two of his three matches at the College Squash Association Divisional Championships -- where Bates advanced to the Summers Cup final for the first time since 2016.
