CANTON, N.Y. -- Sophomore team captain,
Dennis Welte, collected his third-straight five-game, come-from-behind victory (and fifth-straight win overall) as Bates men's squash concluded its 2025-26 regular season Sunday at No. 28 Saint Lawrence University.
Welte, who won all five of his outings in the month of February, went up 1-0 vs. the Saints' Mina Yousef with an 11-9 decision in game one. The Saint Lawrence first-year answered with wins of 13-11 and 11-9 to take a 2-1 lead. Welte, never to be counted out, fired off victories of 11-7 and 11-2 to seal the triumph in commanding fashion.
Saint Lawrence, winners of two in a row, improve to 7-10 overall with the senior day home win. The garnet and white goes to 4-11 on the year.
No. 25 Bates now awaits its seeding in next weekend's (Feb. 27-March 1) CSA Divisional Team Championships in Philadelphia, Pa.
