CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Sophomore Seneca Moore broke his own school record in the 110-meter hurdles as the Bates men's outdoor track and field team competed at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday.

Meet Highlights

• Moore (Lansing, Mich.) actually broke his own record twice on the day, racing to the finish in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles in 14.49 seconds. Then he took third place in the final in 14.48 seconds. He currently ranks 34th in all of NCAA Division III in the event. Moore had previously set a new Bates record when he won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.54 seconds at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships.
• First-year Nate Roberts (Summit, N.J.) won his section and set a new personal record in the 800 meters with his time of 1:51.70, good for sixth on the Bates all-time performance list. Junior Ross Tejeda (Milton, Mass.) finished just ahead of Roberts with his time of 1:51.58, good for 11th place out of 22 runners. Tejeda ranks 39th in the country this year in the 800 meters based on his season-best time of 1:51.36 and Roberts now ranks 45th.
• Sophomore Callahan Porter (Chester, N.J.) placed 12th out of 24 runners in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:53.52 and first-year Max Hoffman (Wellesley, Mass.) took 14th with a personal-record time of 3:54.28.

The Bobcats now wait to see who declares for the NCAA Championships in what events, with the top 22 in the country who declare in any given event earning bids to nationals.
