PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- No. 20 ranked and No. 8 seed Bates College fell to No. 17 Bowdoin Saturday, 6-3, on day two of the 2025 Divisional Collegiate Women's Team Squash Championships, representing what will be the final team competition of the season for the Bobcats.
The No. 5 seed Polar Bears (11-9) will now face No. 7 seed and No. 19 ranked Colby in Sunday's Kurtz Cup consolation bracket final (9:00 a.m.) after the Mules dismissed No. 6 seed and No. 18 ranked Dickinson, 5-4, in the other consolation semifinal match.
Navya Gupta, playing at the top spot for Bates, needed five games (11-4, 11-5, 7-11, 5-11, 11-0) to erase Bowdoin's Emma Kate Watts-Roy.
Scarlett Hine also went the max (11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-7) in her dismissal of Eshika Tangri at the No. 3 position. Senior
Daina Velez, playing her final contest as a Bobcat, coasted to a 3-0 victory (11-3, 11-9, 11-8) over Elizabeth Kennedy at No. 9.
