LEWISTON, Maine -- No. 24 Bates debuted at home Saturday with a split at the Bates Squash Center, doubling up Brown 6–3 before dropping a 9–0 decision to No. 5 Trinity in women's squash play.
The first six positions for the Bobcats each won their individual matches via shutout to clinch a second-straight victory to start the season.
Aasya Patel enjoyed a clean sweep in the No. 1 position for Bates, defeating Brown's Isabella Bin by scores of 11-3, 11-3, and 11-8.
Tia Billimoria did the same with a 3-0 blanking of Anya Kawlekar (11-9, 11-6, 11-6) at the No. 2 spot.
Scarlett Hine, playing in the No. 3 position, made quick work of Anne O'Connor with wins of 11-7, 11-8, and 11-4.
Sav Thomson, followed in the No. 4 slot, winning her match vs. Sarah Kim (11-6, 11-4, 11-9).
Angelina Amastal pushed past Anji Friedbauer at No. 5 (11-5, 13-11, 11-2) while
Neha Taneja completed her match at No. 6 vs. Maya Katzive with winning scores of 11-1, 11-2, 11-2.
In the nightcap, the Bantams did not yield a single game en route to the shutout victory.
