BOSTON -- The Bates women's track and field team sent select athletes to the John Thomas Terrier Classic, held Friday at Boston University.
The Bobcats turned in a number of strong performances at the non-scoring meet, which featured a lot of Division I competition.
Meet Highlights
- Senior Isabelle Demeritt (Acton, Mass.) placed fourth in her section out of 21 runners in the 3,000 meters, recording a personal record time of 10:14.20.
- The Bates 4x400 relay team of first-year Madison Alves (Stoneham, Mass.), junior Gabby Monaco (Pittsburgh, Pa.), first-year Dara Salka (Somers, Conn.), and sophomore Lia Traficonte (Cumberland, Maine) finished second out of five schools in their section with a time of 4:04.87.
- Senior Phoebe Pohl (Wayland, Mass.) paced the Bobcats in the 5,000 meters in 18:10.06, good for 61st out of 86 competitors. Meanwhile, senior Sophie Demeritt (Acton, Mass.) was second in her section with a personal record time of 18:17.76.
The Bobcats return to action as a full team on Saturday, Feb. 8 when they travel to Bowdoin for the Maine State Meet.
