What does leadership mean to you? Leadership is consistent effort, passion, and transparency. It is treating members of your team or group equally, and advocating equally, while also being a consistent representation of what the team pr group ideal it. I believe this representation needs to be in the form of physical and mental effort, plus grit as well. Smiling when you don't want to smile because you know that's what your people need.
What experience—big or small—has made a surprising impact on you?
Time alone and to myself at school (away from friends and family) has forced me to reflect and think deeply. To make my own schedule and do things alone, Without the distraction of company has really taught me to practice good routines and positivity. I learned to enjoy the company of myself and do the work on the side when no one can see it.
What’s a failure or setback that taught you something valuable?
Conflicts among the team and team members has taught me resilience and patience. Drama is super stressful in the moment, but it passes, and it passes faster when you take moments to think and breath instead of acting impulsively or reacting out of pure emotion.
What’s a value or principle you try to live by? Acknowledge your blessings and what you have worked for. The reminders are motivation. and take each day one at a time.
What’s something about you that might surprise people?
I've become a huge homebody.
