LEWISTON, Maine -- No. 20 Bates College evened its overall record at the .500 mark Sunday as the Bobcats held off No. 19 Wesleyan, 5-4, to clinch a clutch home win in the Bates Squash Center. The Cardinals (9-2) had won four-straight outings prior to the setback.
Navya Gupta, who less than 24 hours earlier was representing the garnet and white at the 2025 CSA Individual Championships in New York City, showed no signs of fatigue as the star sophomore coasted to a 3-0 win at No. 1 for the Bobcats.
Scarlett Hine and
Tia Billimoria, playing at their respective positions of No. 3 and No. 5, also posted 3-0 triumphs.
Grace Flaherty (No. 2) and
Yasmine Khan (No. 4) needed an extra game apiece, but both ended the afternoon victorious nonetheless.
The Bobcats (4-4) now hit the road as the squad visits #18Â Bowdoin this Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
