Yasmine Khan earned individual victories Friday as Bates College hosted #16 Middlebury in women's squash competition. The Bobcats, ranked No. 20 in the College Squash Association (CSA) team rankings, ultimately suffered a 7-2 defeat vs. the 7-2 Panthers.
Hine, playing at the No. 2 position, outlasted Abby Holding in a five-game, come-from-behind thriller (14-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-4, 11-9) to put the rookie at 4-1 on the year. Khan, at No. 3, defeated Sabrina Schwarz, 3-1 (11-4, 12-10, 5-11, 11-9), to also move her to 4-1 overall.
Bates drops to 3-2 with the setback. The Bobcats get right back at it Saturday at noon as they prepare to host #14 Williams at the Bates Squash Center.
