HADLEY, Mass. -- 101 student-athletes from Bates College's varsity winter teams have received 2024 NESCAC Winter All-Academic honors, announced Tuesday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
Over 1,400 student-athletes have been named to the 2024 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution. Lists of All-Academic honorees are provided by the athletic departments at each institution. The cumulative GPA on record as of the end of the Fall 2023 semester was used to determine eligibility for the honor
Max Cory,
Mark Gregory, and
Nate Pierce of men's swimming & diving;
Grace Wenger and
Natalie Young of women's swimming and diving; and
Morgan Kennedy of women's basketball also won All-NESCAC honors in their sport this season.
Tad Koenigsbauer (men's squash) is the only Bobcat to earn both All-Academic and All-Sportsmanship honors this winter season.
Founded in 1971, the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) consists of 11 liberal arts colleges and has consistently reflected its commitment to the values of athletics and academic achievement. The member colleges of the conference are Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Hamilton College, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, and Williams College.
