BOSTON, Mass. -- #20 Bates College opened the 2024-25 season on a high note Friday as the Bobcats blanked #27 Connecticut College, 9-0, in women's squash action. The match was hosted by Northeastern University.

Navya Gupta, Scarlett Hine, Yasmine Khan, Tia Billimoria, Sav Thomson, Angelina Amastal, Neha Taneja, and Daina Velez each enjoyed shutout performances in their respective contests. Grace Flaherty, playing at the No. 2 position, went four games in her match before sending off Isabel Schumacher by scores of 7-11, 11-5, 11-9, 11-4.

The Bobcats (1-0) get right back at it Saturday at 1:00 p.m. vs. #22 Denison University in a contest that will be hosted by Harvard University (Cambridge, Mass.).
