LEWISTON, Maine -- The 2022-23 women's squash regular season officially came to a close Sunday as #28 Bates College welcomed #11 Tufts to the Squash Center, ultimately dropping a 9-0 decision to the Jumbos.

The match of the day came at No. 2 as Bates'
Aasya Patel (Madhya Pradesh, India) went five games vs. Tufts' Riddhi Joshi. Patel secured the first game by an 11-2 score before dropping the next two with results of 11-5 and 11-3. Trailing 2-1, the Bobcat first-year evened the match with a clutch 11-8 win in game four before suffering an 11-9 defeat in game five in the eventual 3-2 setback.
Tufts, 10-3 on the year after Sunday's victory, has now won seven outings in a row. The Jumbos close out their regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at #2 Harvard.
Bates (3-13) now prepares for the NESCAC Championships, hosted at Williams College (Williamstown, Mass.) on Feb. 11-12.
