Cordelia Dotson wrapped up a third-straight home match in as many days Sunday as the duo earned individual victories with Bates College hosting Middlebury College in women's squash competition.
The Bobcats, ranked No. 22 in the College Squash Association (CSA) team rankings, suffered a 7-2 defeat vs. the No. 17 Panthers.
Patel (Madhya Pradesh, India) enjoyed a solid showing for the garnet and white, closing out Abby Holding by scores of 11-7, 12-10, and 11-5 in the No. 2 position. Dotson (Prides Crossing, Mass.) went the distance for her win, needing five games and 45 minutes to move past Eva Finney in the No. 5 slot (7-11, 12-10, 4-11, 12-10, 13-11).
Bates drops to 2-10 with the setback while Middlebury, winner of seven-straight outings, improves to 9-1 on the season.
The Bobcats next see action on Tuesday (5:00 p.m.) when they welcome No. 32 Mount Holyoke College to the Bates Squash Center.
