LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates women's track and field team got the outdoor season started on Saturday, hosting the Bates Quad Meet and winning six events along the way.
Senior captain
Elise Lambert (Amherst, N.H.) led the way for Bates, winning the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.24 and taking home the high jump title with a top leap of 4-11.75.
Sophomore
Chrissy Aman (Hanover, N.H.) won the 800 meters by nearly two seconds with her time of 2:22.88. She also led off the winning 4x400 relay team of Aman, senior
Mary Corcoran (Brookline, Mass.), junior
Maggie Marsh (Stratham, N.H.) and junior
Abbey Otterbein (Beverly, Mass.), as the Bobcats raced to the finish in 4:16.80.
Senior
Carly Harris (Orinda, Calif.) won the 1,500 meters in a career-best 4:56.73 and sophomore
Livia Kozick (Portsmouth, N.H.) won the triple jump with a wind aided distance of 35-1.75.Â

Amanda Kaufman (Somers, Conn.) had a strong day for the Bobcats as well, taking second in both the 200 meters (wind aided 26.89) and the 100 meter hurdles (wind aided 15.18). Meanwhile, sophomore
Maddie Lee (Providence, R.I.) finished second in the 400 hurdles (career-best 1:08.21) and sophomore
Enisa Shoshi (Coraopolis, Pa.) took second in the long jump with a leap of 16-10.5.Â
The Bobcats scored 51 points as a team, third most out of four schools. The Bowdoin women edged USM 64-63 to take first while Colby finished a distant fourth with 11 points.
Bates is back in action next Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Tufts to take on the Jumbos, RPI, and MIT.
