WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Bates women's indoor track and field team saw their seven-year winning streak snapped but still turned in a strong performance overall Saturday at the Maine State Meet.
Colby took home its first state title in the women's indoor meet since 2000, scoring 200.5 points. The Bobcats finished a very close second with 197 points, and Bowdoin came in third with 184.5 points.
Four Bobcats took home state titles, with senior captain
Elise Lambert (Amherst, N.H.) winning a pair of them. Lambert won the 800 meters in 2:23.84 and the mile run in 5:08.02.
Junior
Jillian Richardson (Auburn, Maine) led a 1-2-3-4-5 Bates finish in the 3000 meters, winning the race in 10:28.18.Â
Lily D'Addario (Locust Valley, N.Y.) won the 60 meter dash in a personal record time of 8.20 seconds. She ranks eighth on Bates' all-time performance list in the event.Â
Sophomore
Chrissy Aman (Hanover, N.H.) won the 600 meters in 1:41.35 and helped Bates place second in the 4x400 in 4:14.23.
Other top-three performances by the Bobcats included:
- Junior Jordan Wilson (Medfield, Mass.) placed third in the mile in 5:12.08.
- Junior Rowan Hassman (Coppell, Texas) finished second in the 1000 meters in 3:06.07.
- Sophomore Jen Coseno (Sutton, Mass.) took second in the 5000 meters in 18:38.64 and senior Tara Ellard (Brewster, Mass.) finished third in 18:48.61.
- Junior Maggie Marsh (Stratham, N.H.), first-year Lily Miller (Claremont, Calif.), first-year Isabelle Demeritt (Acton, Mass.) and Hassman finished third in the 4x800 relay in 10:25.19.
- Senior Lily Simmons (Harpers Ferry, W.Va.) finished third in the pole vault (10-2).Â
- First-year Olivia Reynolds (Cumberland, Maine) and senior Carly Harris (Orinda, Calif.) took second (10:28.24)Â and third (10:28.91) respectively in the 3K to Richardson.
- Senior captain Emily-Claire Duffy (Belmont, Mass.), junior Abbey Otterbein (Beverly, Mass.) and senior Mary Corcoran (Brookline, Mass.) joined Aman on the runner-up 4x400 relay team.
The Bobcats are back in action this Friday at 1pm when they travel to the David Hemery Valentine Classic, hosted by Boston University.
