LEWISTON, Maine -- The No. 10 nationally ranked Bates women's squash team delivered its fifth straight win with an 8-1 romp over NESCAC rival and 16th-ranked Hamilton on Wednesday night at the Bates Squash Center.
The Bobcats (5-1) allowed only six set wins to the Continentals. senior Samantha Matos (New York, N.Y.), junior Chloe Mitchell (Chatham, N.J.), senior captain Rakey Drammeh (New York, N.Y.) and first-year Charlotte Cabot (Dover, Mass.) rang up 3-0 wins at 3, 5, 7 and 9, respectively. Junior Nessrine Ariffin (Penang, Malaysia) won 3-1 at the No. 1 position, as did junior Myriam Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) at 2, first-year Emma Dunn (Bellevue, Wash.) at 6, sophomore Lauren Williams (Buluwayo, Zimbabwe) at 8.
Hamilton (4-3) got its lone point via a 3-2 decision for Hannah Coffin over junior Lesea Bourke (Greenwich, Conn.) at No. 4.
Bates plays host to the team ranked just ahead of the Bobcats by the College Squash Association, No. 9 Brown, on Friday at 5pm.
