With two victories on Thursday, Rosen (Port Washington, N.Y.) became the 12th All-American in team history and advanced to Friday's quarterfinals. He finishes his breakthrough sophomore season with a 19-8 singles record as well as First Team All-NESCAC honors in both singles and doubles.

The unseeded Rosen officially became an All-American with his Round of 32 victory Thursday morning, a 6-2, 6-1 defeat of University of Texas at Tyler freshman Arthur Fagundes.

Rosen moved on to face eighth-seeded Case Western Reserve University senior CJ Krimbill. Rosen took a 1-0 lead with a 6-3 win in the first set, but Krimbill, the University Athletic Association MVP in 2014-15, evened the match with a 6-2 decision in the second set. Rosen blew past Krimbill in the third set, winning the final four games to finish off a 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 victory, raising his singles record this season to 19-7.

Rosen is Bates' first singles All-American since Rob Crampton '13. Crampton reached the semifinals in 2012 and was stopped in the Round of 16 in 2013.
