Bates senior RHP/2B Kelsey Freedman (Falmouth, Maine) carried the Bobcats to a 9-3 week. At the plate, Freedman exploded for four home runs after entering the week with one in her career. She batted .432 (16-37) with 10 RBIs and a .784 slugging percentage.

On the mound, Freedman went 6-2 with a 2.55 ERA over 49.1 innings, including 58 strikeouts, and she won all three games in Bates' sweep of Trinity. Freedman broke her own team record for strikeouts in a season, now with 113. With 331 career strikeouts, she has 113 more than any other pitcher in team history.
