LEWISTON, Maine -- Six Bobcats representing three different programs have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Men's At-Large Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday.
Xander Frey,
Dane Jones,
Drew McClutchy, and
Teddy Rosen of men's lacrosse;
Georgie Honeybone from alpine skiing; and
Sage Grossi of Nordic skiing have each earned recognition on this elite list. For McClutchy and Rosen, this marks the duo's second selection to the Academic All-District® Team.
Frey, a midfielder from Potomac, Md., appeared in all 18 contests for the Bobcats, establishing new career-highs with 19 goals and 32 points. The sophomore economics major, who was also named to the NESCAC Spring All-Academic team, owns a grade-point average of 3.94.
Jones, hailing from Slingerlands, N.Y., lands on this list with a 3.84 GPA as an economics major. A sophomore midfielder and NESCAC All-Academic pick, Dane played in all 18 games for Bates, starting 17 of those contests. He netted five goals and assisted on four others for nine points, while controlling 51 ground balls (2nd on the team).
McClutchy owns an impressive 3.95 GPA as an economics and Chinese double major. A long-stick midfielder and team captain from Farmington, Conn., Drew played in all 18 games for the garnet-and-white, making 17 starts. The two-time NESCAC All-Academic selection finished the year with a career-best 30 grounders and 13 caused turnovers (2nd on team).
Rosen, a junior politics major from New Canaan, Conn., makes it a All-District® repeat with a 3.82 grade-point average. The defender, who also made his second NESCAC All-Academic team this spring, started all 18 games for the garnet and white. Teddy, with his 45 ground balls and team-leading 32 caused turnovers, earned multiple postseason accolades, including: USILA All-American, IMLCA All-Region, and All-NESCAC.
Grossi earns his spot with a mighty 3.98 GPA as a biochemistry major. A sophomore from Montpelier, Vt., Sage also landed his first NESCAC All-Academic nod this past winter.
Honeybone, who hails from Bellevue, Wash. maintained a 3.93 cumulative grade-point average as a physics and economics double major. The senior team captain is also a three-time NESCAC All-Academic pick.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
