LEWISTON, Maine -- Six Bobcats have been recognized on the College Sports Communicators Men's Track & Field/XC Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday.
Seniors
Evan Migdole,
Carson Moellering, and
Evan Skufca, along with juniors
Evan Berthiaume and
Liam Thomson and sophomore
Kyle Verner, have each earned recognition on this elite list.
Migdole, a biology major from Westbrook, Conn., wraps up his Bates career with a solid 3.91 cumulative grade-point average. Also a 3x NESCAC Winter and Spring All-Academic Selection, the team captain is one of 96 Senior Scholar Award-winners ... Bates student-athletes that participated in varsity sports for four years and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better.
Evan also earned acclaim on the track, landing a place on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-East Region team. Migdole earned All-Region in two events, the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x400 relay. He achieved career-best time of 53.43 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, which is a Bates record, and he helped the 4x400 relay achieve a time of 3:20.67 at the NESCAC Championships.
Moellering recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.90 as a physics major. The Senior Scholar Award-winner and three-time member of the NESCAC Winter and Spring All-Academic squads caps off his Bates career as an All-Region decathlete. The team captain's personal-record point total of 5,743 in the decathlon at the Tufts Spring Invitational this past April ranks 10th in Bates history.
Skufca posted a 3.93 grade-point average with a major of biochemistry. A member of both the Bates men's cross country and track & field programs, the native of Schenectady, N.Y. and Senior Scholar Award recipient is also a three-time selection the Winter and Spring NESCAC All-Academic squads.
Berthiaume lands on this list with his 3.93 GPA as a physics major. The East Greenwich, R.I. resident made an appearance on the USTFCCCA All-Region roster after also helping the 4x400 relay secure a time of 3:20.67 at the NESCAC Championships. Evan is a two-time NESCAC Winter and Spring All-NESCAC pick.
Thomson makes his debut on this list sporting a 3.93 GPA as a philosophy major. Hailing from Arlington, Va., Liam has been selected to the NESCAC Fall, Winter, and Spring All-Academic Teams in each of the past two seasons. He is a member of both the XC and track & field programs.
Verner, a philosophy major from Acton, Mass., checks in with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average. Representing both XC and track & field, Kyle is a member of the NESCAC Fall, Winter, and Spring All-Academic rosters.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
