Six Bobcats Honored With Selection to College Sports Communicators Women's At-Large Academic All-District® Team

LEWISTON, Maine -- Six Bobcats representing the Bates College field hockey, women's lacrosse, and women's rowing programs have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Women's At-Large Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday. 

Summer Gordon from field hockey, along with Lucy Taylor, Haley Wines, and Grace Yonchak from lacrosse, and Athalia Blasser Mulligan and Megan O'Donnell from rowing, have each earned recognition on this elite list. For O'Donnell,  the honor marks the junior's second appearance on the Academic All-District® Team.

Gordon, a biology major, earns All-District® status with a 3.95 GPA. Summer is also a four-time NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction and NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad selection, and a three-time member of the NESCAC All-Academic team.

The senior midfielder from North Andover, Mass. started all 20 games for the NESCAC champion and NCAA quarterfinalist Bobcats.

Taylor, an attack from Falmouth, Maine, appeared in 13 contests (12 starts) for the Bobcats, recording eight goals and 21 assists for 29 total points. The junior politics major, and two-time NESCAC Spring All-Academic pick, owns a near-perfect grade-point average of 3.98. 

Wines, hailing from Madison, Conn., lands on this list with a 3.98 GPA as a biology and environmental studies double major. A sophomore attack and NESCAC All-Academic pick, Haley played in 16 games for Bates, starting six of those contests. She netted 11 goals, while tying for second on the team with 24 draw controls.

Yonchak owns an impressive 3.97 GPA as an economics and Chinese double major. A senior midfielder from Needham, Mass., Drew played in 16 games for the garnet-and-white, making nine starts. The three-time NESCAC All-Academic selection and 2026 Milton L. Lindholm Scholar Athlete finished the year with a career-bests in goals (13), assists (5), and total points (18).

Blasser Mulligan earns her spot with a mighty 3.96 GPA as a biochemistry major. A sophomore from Forest Hills, N.Y., Athalia also landed her first NESCAC All-Academic nod this spring. She rowed in the Bates WV48 lineup as the Bobcats captured their first NESCAC title since 2022 at last month's National Invitational Rowing Championship in Worcester, Mass.

O'Donnell, showcased a perfect 4.0 GPA as a physics and earth & climate sciences double major. A CRCA First Team All-American, Megan rowed in the fourth seat of the first varsity eight as the Bobcats won a silver medal and finished second overall at the NCAA Championships, May 29. 

From Wayland, Mass., the junior is also a two-time CRCA National Scholar-Athlete and NESCAC All-Academic selection.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
