LEWISTON, Maine – Bates College head men's and women's squash coach Nadiia Usenko has announced the hiring of Henry Pelletier as assistant coach for the Bobcats' men's and women's squash programs.

Pelletier joins Bates following a standout collegiate career at Connecticut College, where he was a four-year member and captain of the men's squash team.  Pelletier graduated this past spring with a bachelor's degree in economics and French, along with a minor in environmental studies. He also studied abroad at Université Paris Cité in France and is fluent in French with working proficiency in Spanish.

"We are thrilled to welcome Henry to the Bates squash program," Usenko said. "Henry brings valuable experience as both a collegiate player and coach, and I am excited for our team to benefit from his energy, knowledge, and commitment to building meaningful relationships with our student-athletes."

Pelletier has built an impressive coaching résumé alongside his playing career. Since 2020, he has coached players of all ages throughout the Greater Hartford (Conn.) area, leading individual lessons, group training sessions, and match preparation. He also completed internships with US Squash in Philadelphia and Capitol Squash in Hartford, where he directed junior camps, coached athletes on technical and tactical development, and earned his Level 1 coaching certification.

"Having competed against Bates throughout my time in the NESCAC, I am excited to take my coaching skills to this program to elevate these talented, motivated athletes from around the world to the next level of collegiate squash," Pelletier said. "I can't wait to get started. Go Bates!"

Pelletier will assist with all aspects of the Bates men's and women's squash programs, including on-court coaching, player development, recruiting, and the day-to-day operations of the nationally competitive Bobcat programs.
