HADLEY, Mass. -- A trio of Bates men's lacrosse players have earned All-NESCAC honors, as announced Thursday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
Senior captain
Connor Hartman (Hingham, Mass.) is a first team All-NESCAC midfielder while juniors
Riley McClure (Georgetown, Mass.) and
Teddy Rosen (New Canaan, Conn.) are both second team All-NESCAC selections.
Hartman is now a two-time All-NESCAC award-winner for the Bobcats, after being named to the second team a year ago. He has tallied 41 points this season and is second on the team with 35 goals scored despite often being the focus of the other team's defense. He scored four goals in a 13-11 win at Wesleyan, a career-high five goals in a 14-8 win over Trinity, four goals in a 19-9 victory over Colby, and four goals in a huge 12-7 win for Bates in their NESCAC quarterfinal at Amherst.
This is the first All-NESCAC honor of McClure's career. The attacker leads the Bobcats with 55 points (team-high 42 goals, 13 assists) on the season. He ranks fifth in the NESCAC in goals scored and eighth in points per game.
McClure scored five goals and dished out two assists in a 14-8 win over Trinity, earning NESCAC Player of the Week honors. He also scored five goals, while adding three assists, in a 17-13 win over Hamilton, and poured in five more goals in a 19-9 win at Colby.
This is also the first All-NESCAC selection of Rosen's career. The defender easily leads the Bobcats, while ranking eighth in the NESCAC, with 22 caused turnovers on the season. He is tied for sixth on the team with 32 ground balls. Rosen has been strong down the stretch, recording multiple caused turnovers in seven straight games, including four against No. 1 nationally ranked Bowdoin.
This is the most All-NESCAC selections for Bates men's lacrosse since 2019. The Bobcats (11-4) are back in action this Saturday in the NESCAC semifinals when they take on Tufts at 3 p.m. on the campus of Bowdoin College.
