LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates junior designated hitter
Henry Prince is the Maine State Baseball Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the Maine College Baseball & Softball Association.
Prince (McLean, Va.) hit safely on all five games last week while batting .421 with two home runs and 11 RBIs.
Remarkably, he hit grand slams in back-to-back games against Southern Maine and Saint Joseph's to start the week. Prince drove in seven runs and finished just a triple shy of the cycle in the 14-2 win over the Monks.
He is hitting a robust .342 with a .903 OPS (On-Base plus Slugging Percentage) this season. Prince's three home runs and seven RBIs this year both rank second on the Bobcats. His .548 slugging percentage is the best on the team.
The Bobcats (17-10) return to action this Saturday when they host Lesley for a doubleheader starting at noon. Senior Day festivities will take place between games.
