MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Bates women's track and field team wrapped up their indoor season on Saturday when a select few athletes competed at the Tufts Final Qualifier, held at Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center.
Meet Highlights
- Junior Alannah Ardrey (New York City) matched her season-best mark in the triple jump, taking fourth place in a field of 11 athletes with her leap of 36-11.75 (11.27m).
- First-year Hannah Pawlowski (Bow, N.H.) finished fourth out of 13 athletes in the 800 meters in 2:17.17.
- Senior captain Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) placed fifth in the 20-pound weight throw with a heave of 52-2.75 (15.92m).
The following Bates athletes finished in the top 50 in all of NCAA Division III in their respective indoor events this indoor season:
- Ciavarelli ranked 26th in the weight throw based on her season-best toss of 55-7 (16.94m) at the UBears Alumni Invite on Dec. 6
- Senior captain Moriah Scharn (Dunstable, Mass.) ranked 36th in the country in the 60-meter hurdles based on her career-best time of 8.91 seconds at the Maine State Meet on Feb. 7.
- Sophomore Graca Bila (Westbrook, Maine) ranked 39th in the country in the triple jump based on her career-best leap of 37-5.25 (11.41m) at the Bates Invitational on Jan. 16.
- Pawlowski ranked 43rd in the country in the 800 meters based on her time of 2:14.01 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Jan. 31.
The Bobcats start their outdoor season March 19-21 when they head to Atlanta for the Emory Spring Break Classic.
