Isabella Albro is the Maine Softball Pitcher of the Week after her outstanding performances propelled the Bobcats to a pair of wins, as announced Tuesday by the Maine College Baseball & Softball Association.
Albro (New York City) tossed a pair of complete games last week and went 2-0 in the circle, leading the Bobcats to victories over Babson and Amherst. Across three appearances, she logged 16 2/3 innings, allowing just four runs on 13 hits while striking out three.
Albro opened the week with a seven-inning performance, surrendering just one run on six hits in a 2-1 victory over Babson. She followed with her second complete game, allowing two earned runs on four hits in a 5-2 win over Amherst. She capped off the week by pitching 2 2/3 innings in relief, giving up just one run on three hits against No. 11 nationally ranked Tufts.
The right-hander is 2-0 with a team-best 1.24 ERA in seven appearances, four starts, so far this season. She has walked just two hitters in 28.1 innings pitched and is holding opponents to a .234 batting average.
The Bobcats (8-7) are back in action Thursday when they visit Brandeis for a doubleheader. Game one gets underway at 3 p.m.
