Men's basketball headed to New Jersey for first two rounds of NCAA Division III tournament

Bobcats qualify for "The Big Dance" for the first time since 2015

LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates men's basketball team is headed to the NCAA Division III Championship tournament for the second time in program history, as announced Monday by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. 

Bates (18-8) travels to Montclair State University's Panzer Athletic Center for the first two rounds, starting Friday when the Bobcats take on Yeshiva at 1 p.m. If the Bobcats prevail, they'll play the winner of host Montclair State and University of Maine at Farmington at 5:15 p.m.

The Bobcats are in the NCAA Division III Championship tournament for the first time since the 2014-15 season, when Bates advanced to the "Sweet 16." The Bobcats also made the NCAA tournament in the pre-Division III era, having competed in the 1961 NCAA College Division Regional Finals.

Montclair State has announced that all tickets will be sold at the door of the venue and must be paid for in cash (There will be no online ticketing or credit cards accepted).

Pricing for Friday, March 6 (Session one- Yeshiva vs. Bates- 1:00 p.m.
Session two- Maine-Farmington vs. Montclair State- 5:15 p.m.)
 
General Admission- $15
Students-  $10

Tickets will go on sale about an hour before each session's tip-off.
 
Any tickets purchased are valid for the session they were purchased for. If a spectator who purchased a ticket to Session one wishes to attend the Session two, you must exit the gym and purchase a second ticket for the second session during the allotted time.
 
All fans who will be attending the first game are kindly asked to depart at the conclusion of that contest as capacity is limited and the gym must be prepared for the fans of the second game.
