WATERVILLE, Maine -- Bates men's squash visited No. 16 Colby College Saturday afternoon as the No. 24 Bobcats dropped an 8-1 decision to the Mules.
Bates' lone triumph came courtesy of sophomore captain
Dennis Welte, who survived Colby's Seif Ashraf for a comeback, 3-2 victory (6-11, 11-3, 9-11, 11-4, 11-6) at the No. 1 position.
The Mules, winners of three straight, improve to an even 6-6 overall with the triumph. The garnet and white goes to 4-9 on the year.
Bates will return to competition on Saturday, Feb. 21 when the Bobcats visit No. 13 Williams at noon.
