Rahul Vasishtha Named Assistant Men’s and Women’s Squash Coach

LEWISTON, Maine – Bates College Head Squash Coach, Nadiia Usenko, announced today the hiring of Rahul Vasishtha as assistant coach for the men's and women's squash programs.

Vasishtha joins the Bobcats with international coaching experience and a strong background in high-performance athlete development. Most recently, he served as a national coach with the Singapore Squash Rackets Association, where he designed and implemented training programs for national squad players, mentored athletes in technical and tactical development, and traveled with teams to prestigious events including the KL Junior Open and the British Junior Open.

Prior to his time in Singapore, Vasishtha coached at Shiv Nadar University in India, guiding student-athletes who went on to represent India at international squash competitions. He also gained valuable experience with the Squash Rackets Association of Kuala Lumpur, working with Malaysia's junior development program.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Rahul to Bates," said Usenko. "Rahul's experience across India, Malaysia, and Singapore, along with his exposure to different coaching systems, brings an important global perspective to Bates. He has worked with athletes in both collegiate and national team settings, giving him a unique ability to support players at every stage of their development. His passion for the sport and his dedication to helping student-athletes grow on and off the court will strengthen our program in meaningful ways. I am confident he will play a key role in our team's success moving forward."

A WSF Level 2 certified coach, Vasishtha holds a Master of Business (Sport Management) from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Stephen's College at the University of Delhi.

"I'm thrilled to join Bates College and contribute to the squash program," Vasishtha said. "I look forward to building on its proud tradition and helping the team reach new heights. Go Bobcats!"
