BOSTON -- The Bates women's track and field team competed at the New England Division III Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, a two-day event held at the TRACK at New Balance.
The Bobcats tallied 13 points, good for a tie for 16th place out of 28 scoring teams.
Meet Highlights
- Sophomore Alannah Ardrey (New York City) placed sixth in the triple jump with a personal-record leap of 37-0.25 (11.28m), which puts her second on the Bates all-time performance list and 46th in the country this year in NCAA Division III.
- Junior Moriah Scharn (Dunstable, Mass) took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.10 seconds.
- Junior Carli Ciavarelli (Ridgefield, Conn.) placed fourth in the 20-pound weight throw with her top effort of 52-11 (16.13m).
- Sophomore Lia Traficonte (Cumberland, Maine) set a personal record in the 400 meters with her time of 59.78 seconds.
- First-year Madison Alves (Stoneham, Mass.) set a personal record in the 200 meters with her time of 26.29 seconds.
- Senior Phoebe Pohl (Weston, Mass.) set a personal record in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:22.89.
- The 4x200 relay team of sophomore Emily Cain (Burien, Wash.), Traficonte, first-year Dara Salka (Somers, Conn.), and Alves won their section and placed 12th overall in 1:47.98.
Select Bobcats will head to Medford, Mass. next Saturday to compete in the Tufts "Last Chance" Meet as they attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
